Deanna Deveney attended Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts, after graduating from high school. Aside from her academics and extracurricular activities, she was an excellent networker and had a good GPA. As a result, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, where she learned about the most pressing challenges in today's criminal justice system. The Criminal Justice National Honor Society elected her as its president. As a result of her efforts, she was able to meet a number of industry leaders who would go on to act as mentors to her as she progressed in her career.

The Middlesex County Sheriff's Office is where Deanna began her career. She worked in a variety of divisions for five years to have a thorough understanding of the Office's day-to-day operations. She spent much of her time preparing summons, eviction notices, and writs of attachment. Along with that, she was in charge of organizing auctions for confiscated property and developing materials for officer safety and legal ethics training. Working in many different roles, she gained valuable experience for her future profession as a lawyer.
